My Digital Nomad Travel Loadout

TRAVEL BAGS

Everything I bring fits nicely into two bags. A 40L Away Carry On Suitcase, and an 8.5L Silm Backpack from AER.

EVERYDAY BAGS

I probably have an unhealthy addiction to bags. But, I hate having to take with me than I need to. My AER City Sling is my most used day-bag aside from my AER Slim Bag for work. As I also like to hike, I do also bring a Matador Freefly 16 packable backpack that is much more breathable for long hikes.

ORGANIZERS

The addition of organizers and packing cubes has been great in organizing my bag so things are easier to find and not slushing around when I’m moving.

IN TRANSIT ITEMS

I try to limit items I use only while in the act of traveling, but I do have a few. As I’ve phased out taking a full-headset I’ve complemented my Airpods Pro and an AirFly Pro so I can still listen to movies on the plane.

EVERYDAY CARRY ITEMS (EDC’S)

I’ve become a big fan of tiny EDC items I can throw in my bag. Things as simple as a micro flashlight, or reusable zip ties have come in handy on almost every trip I’ve been on.

I enjoy photography but like to travel light. I’ve found that using a Canon G5X on a tripod in HDR produces similar dynamic range to a single-shot of my EOS R Canon DSLR.

In 2023 I also travelled with a DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone; however, it was only used a few times a month so I couldn’t justify the space it took. Removing it for 2024 to see how much I miss it.
